Hello

I am Sarah Schultheiss I am from Texas, though I was raised in Kentucky my influences are Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Ace Frehley, and Mick Mars, vocally speaking I really do not know whom I sound like, but I love Janis Joplin, Loretta Lynn, Joan Jett, Steven Tyler, Stevie Nicks except nobody has told me that I sound like anyone, so I describe my vocals as whiskey stained, gravely and full of livin.

I taught myself how to play guitar by a method I call scientific ear, I don’t read music, so I use science to help me play guitar, singing I am also self-taught, however, I have been in a few choirs and picked up some stuff from that.

My Story

My story is a long one, I am 56 years old and I packed a lot of living into them 56 years, but I will try to make it as short as possible.

I was born in Georgia, was abused as an infant, and adopted when I was about two, I lived a couple of years in Chicago then moved to Michigan, I lived in Michigan for a few years then moved to Kentucky, I think I was around 6 or 7 when we moved to Kentucky I am not sure but I was definitely in Kentucky when I was 10 because that is when I had my first seizure.

I always knew I wanted to be a singer and a writer, as soon as I learned how to write I was writing poetry, lyrics, and short stories, so the talent to write was there from birth, the singing seemed to be as natural although I had to work harder at it than writing. I had always wanted to play guitar but it wasn't a priority until I was about 14 when I decided I wanted to play guitar and sing, so at 15 I asked for and got my first guitar and realized what I thought was true, that I could not read music.

That brought a lot of things into perspective for me, like why I struggled with my singing, I was singing in a choir and was doing okay but I knew I was not as good as I could be, and knew I had a guitar that I thought I would never be able to play, that is when a science teacher, who played guitar taught me the science behind music and I used that science to learn how to play guitar and improve my singing.

From 10 to 35 there was a lot of drug abuse and alcohol use, and school was just a total wreck when I was 19 I tried to kill myself which just set me up for another addiction, the thrill of near-death and beating death was the absolute high, I began drifting when I was around 24 close to 25, my first stop was Texas and all though I have been just about everywhere in the United States, I kept ending up back in Texas, 3 different times, but I don't believe in fate, there is a reason for everything, so this third and last time I ended up back in Texas, I knew there was a reason and I've stopped trying to leave to Texas, instead I am embracing Texas.

I know this is long and I'm not sure if I should continue but there is more to my story, I have not talked about the medical challenges or the many jobs I have had, and of course, there is one of two reasons for my continue draw to Texas, my two of three kids and my great-niece and great-nephew and one of my daughters new baby arrival, so at least for now I have some good reasons to stay in Texas,

-Peace, Love, and Rock -n- Roll- Sarah
